What Miramar Christian School offers children

  Our goal is to foster learning opportunities based on Christian principles, attitudes and ideas.
  We provide sound academic education standards through a combination of the New Zealand National Curriculum and the Interact Christian curriculum.
  We encourage children to develop their gifts and potential through interaction in small classes and special visits.
  The opportunity to develop leadership skills based on Christian principles, from Year 1 through to year 8.

School Location

The school is set in attractive grounds on the northern end of Miramar Peninsula.

Background

Miramar Christian School has been providing a Christian education to the Eastern Suburbs and greater Wellington region for the past 29 years.  The school has three classes catering for children from Years 1 – 8.

It was established in 1979 by a group of parents at Miramar Baptist Church, committed to the vision of Christian education, to equip young people for a life of service to God and the community.

The school is an interdenominational Christian school and, as an integrated school, receives government funding for staffing and operations.  The land and buildings are owned by the Proprietors, Miramar Baptist Church Peniel Trust, who charge attendance dues to meet the cost of maintenance and building programmes.

Being a ministry of Miramar Baptist Church, we align ourselves with their Church constitutions as to what we believe. www.miramarbaptist.org

We believe:

  1   the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our only authority in all matters of faith and practice.
  2   in One God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit:
    a) God, the Father, is creator and sustainer of all things;
    b) Jesus Christ, His Son, is both human and divine.  He is the ultimate revelation of the Father and risen Lord and Saviour of the world.  He will return to the earth at a future point in history;
    c) the Holy Spirit is the person who brings God’s life into the lives of believers, working within them to transform them into the likeness of the Son and empowering them to serve God in real ways in this life.
  3   in the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ on the cross for the sins of the world.
  4   eternal life and salvation are by faith in Jesus Christ alone.
